I posted the coffee house photos on my site, the pictures are located here. Video footage of the coffee house will be available during the first FTC Newscast in March.
The release of vidgle.com is coming close. Today, there was a small meeting with members interested to be part of the website. It wasn’t a big turn out, but it was a great start to begin the site. Vidgle.com is not opened yet and the budget for the site is currently getting approved by parent Jenthony Enterprises, Inc. We currently have several shows that will begin production on the first week of February and the site will be open by the the second week in February.
From newscasts to reality shows, from talking about technology to sports, we are planning to have a huge variety of shows for anyone to watch and enjoy. We welcome any new ideas for future shows at anytime, we’ve already gotten so many ideas, that the lists of programming ideas just keep on growing!
Here are some of the current shows we are currently planning:
Behind the Mic: a sitcom show about a radio station written by Anthony and Niki Cruz.
AZ Tech Talk: a technology talk show hosted by Anthony and Sarah
Con-Goer: a on-scene report from a convention.
Sports Roundtable: Hosted by Randy Sobel, a weekly discussion show about sports
Cruzn’ Hollywood: a weekly newscast about entertainment news hosted by Niki Cruz/
Danny Karron’s Comedy Block: comedy standup by Danny Karron.
The Five Towns College Report: a biweekly newscast about whats happening at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York.
Comic-Tonic: a comic-book discussion show hosted by Sketkh and Geoff
The Forum: A roundtable discussion about hot topics going on in the news.
Talkin’ Theater: Behind the scenes of your favorite shows on theater, hosted by Christopher Cavallo.
MIA: A reality stunt show that should not be tried at home!
Some of the conventions, like Anime Boston, is not giving me a press pass because they believe we don’t cover that much anime. We are hoping by 2009, we will be able to get press passes from all conventions because of the reporting we are doing at all of the anime conventions we are covering with Vidgle this year beginning with Anime Boston.
I truly enjoy going to conventions, I’ve been going to different type of conventions since I was 5. I’ve been to bus shows, trade shows, sign shows, radio conferences, anime and sci-fi, and more. I’ve meet many people, especially at the Live365 conferences in 2004 and 2005 in California. By 2009 or 2010, I am planning to have a radio and internet conference covering podcast, internet radio, and other streaming technology. I’m also in full support for Jon’s idea of our own anime convention which is cheap, small and at a great location. I hope to get those two conventions alive by the beginning of the decade.

If you noticed in my Facebook feed that I have posted notes called “HTTP 404 > Not Found.” It turns out it was one of the problems I had with my site last night, as more than 400 people accessed the site at one time which caused the servers to crash. If you didn’t know, Facebook imports my notes from my blog at anthonyzaragoza.com which sits on wrajradio.com.
And with this trouble, I must bring your attention of a video that I must show you. This video was for a science project that I worked on with Niki and Tonia, it is meant to be posted on the internet to spread the word that Five Towns College is not going green! Don’t worry, I didn’t use my full journalism skills for this video as we had a short time with the video and footage. It has a low quality because of the way YouTube accepts videos. The video took a few days to create because we are getting ready for the future of video editing in my offices! You can watch the video by clicking here. Be warned, what you about to hear is true! I don’t know if we had the best presentation in the class, but our science professor asked us if she can show this to the administration, so I said “sure, why not.”
Got back from MangaNEXT a few hours ago and what a great time I had.
Okay, here are the stuff. Pictures are here (click me)! And a video of the elevator shortcut to skip into front of the long line is here. If you went to the con or not, you will find this video hilarious.
As I mentioned a few days ago about a false alarm at Five Towns, there was a another fire alarm at MangaNEXT! Shortly after I posted in my blog on the first floor, the alarms started to go off on the floors above us. So floors 2-9 were evacuated to the first floor at around 4 in the morning and were sent back to their rooms a half hour later. It turned out that someone was smoking in the staircase, I guess he couldn’t wait any longer for the elevator line. In the upcoming days, I will be uploading the “MangaFIRE,” which I was able to catch during the false fire alarm.
I had a great time at this con and I found the ‘alot of people’ in the room thing more fun and I would do that again. Not many things were going, which made me feel more relaxed.
Well I’m off! Enjoy
There was a false alarm today when the fire alarms at Five Towns College went off. According to my friend, a student set off the alarm. At the time I was leaving my post at WFTU, leaving hosts Dan and Justin on the air. As I was preparing to leave the campus, I put on the station. Then when I was pulling out the fire alarms were going off. So I ran inside and told them to put the station on auto pilot and leave the station until a clear signal is given. Shortly after, maintenance put the alarm till silent to investigate.
What was funny was that students were still walking in and around in the school while the fire alarms were going off. My sister, waiting in the car, was laughing how everyone is acting ‘normal’ and what Justin and Dan was saying on the radio. Justin and Dan went on the air again a few minutes after the evacuation.
Of course this moment made me remember the time when the fire alarms went off on WNBC last year on the 11 O’clock news with Sue and Chuck. Here is a clip.
In December 2005, there was another false alarm I was involved in which took place here at WRAJ Internet Radio offices at 3 in the morning. Many police officers and firefighters were here as carbon monoxide detectors were going off. In result, the batteries on the central panel for the detectors failed and was replaced the following weekend.
So what will be the next false alarm and how will it be?
Sorry everyone that I haven’t written in my blog for a month. The past month was nothing but hectic, but I’ll explain later.
I was able to survive the first week of college, which is basically one day. Thats right, four classes, all in one day, twice a week. Many people were like “You should be happy” or “that sucks.” Well, I’m on the suck side. Yea, its good not to be at school all week, but imagine all the work I have to get done. Basically, I hate the schedule, but I hope to get used to it.
I’m going to be at the school anyway on Mondays – Thursdays. I have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I’ll be arriving around 10:30-12:00 and work at the radio station. So you will be to catch me there on those days.
So here is my college schedule for the fall semester: (more…)
I might be considering to transfer to a different school for my senior year, which will make me leave Five Towns College by summer 2008. I just can’t handle some of the staff and professors there, that is making it difficult to get a better grade that I should. The past two semesters for me has been horrible for me because some of the professors did not have a great grading procedure or just didn’t teach right. I’ll be making my final decision sometime in December.
