Jeff Rossen, who came to WNBC and NBC News from WABC-TV, did a similar report that I criticized from a year ago. Remember that new WABC website and Rossen gave it out a tour of it. Well, he has done it again! This time for WNBC’s new website NBCNewYork.com. The only thing missing was the running around the newsroom, however most of it is the same. I know that the stations try to impress users of their new website but sometimes I think is just really unnecessary but I think they want to show off the website to their viewers. In the 1 minute 30 second segment on the 6 o’clock and 7 o’clock news, the music was there, and the dynamic effects that could be used as a promo! Maybe Rossen read my post and decided to joke around with what I said. Google Image Search his name and my site comes up second.
With this new website, it was about time that NBC decided to leave IBS online platform. I’ve been rumoring that they would leave the platform since April and it was true. This was because of NBC’s efforts to expand its local media online. The new site look and feel looks great and the layout is really user family. The previous of the site was to cluttered and there were so many javascripts on the page that caused the site to slowdown on most computers. And this is just the beginning of a new era at WNBC as they transform into a phase of local television that none have seen before. The new 24 hour news channel with local news will be replacing the Weather Plus channel sometime in December when Weather Plus goes off the air.
Just in time for Halloween (and our upcoming trip to MangaNEXT), the new Vidgle website has come. This new template will be setting a standard for future media platforms for Jenthony in the upcoming years. It will be hitting WRAJRadio.com in January.
The new template does not use many CSS codes, you can tell by the loading time and the look of it. Lately, users have been having issues with their computers slowing down for just loading a simple page with so many CSS settings. We do have CSS issues with the WordPress portal, Coppermine portal, and the phpbb portal, which all runs and interacts with each other on Vidgle.com.
So be sure to check out the new Vidgle website today. Will be having a link soon on the site to submit feedbacks, or you can simply talk about it in the messageboards. So logon to www.vidgle.com and try it out!
The new trailer was not meant to come out in the past few days but there is a new version of the Half Blood Prince trailer all over YouTube! Early this year, the movie was pushed into 2009 because parts of the film will be rendered in 3D. Trailer is below. (You may need to click here if you are reading off of Facebook)
Vidgle will be getting another template change this upcoming week. However, the template being designed will be permanent. The new template, snapshot below, will also be the new template for WRAJ Internet Radio in January. Vidgle will be serving as the test site for the template before hitting WRAJ since it has higher traffic.
The current WRAJ Internet Radio website was designed five years ago and now it feels like “its getting old” by the minute. The WRAJ site was known for its website design and content in the internet radio community. Some even said to me that the site is the best internet radio station website they’ve seen. The current template is planning to be retired on January 13. It took nearly 3 months to come up and design the template. The one launching on Vidgle next week (and for WRAJ in January) had about two years of planning. As I mentioned posts back, we kept creating templates and then throw them out to come out with a perfect one. The one created and becoming permanent next week took about 3 months to design and layout, and we are hoping that we have picked the right one.
Just like the 2003 template for WRAJ, we are hoping that this template would last for about 3 years or more. It is expected to become template for NewMusic101 and other new media platforms to come that is part of Jenthony.
Vidgle’s New York Anime Festival coverage has begun! To meet expertise, we will be updating our videos twice a week instead of one (from Otakon) in an experiment for next year’s Con Goer coverages. The twentieth episode of the Con Goer is up right now, and that’s the Friday Out and About edition. We will also bring you the World Cosplay Summit panel in its entirely this Sunday!
Four years ago, it was an experiment on WNBC’s digital subchannel 4.2 and then months later, it became available to all NBC stations. Now Weather Plus will be going off the air by the end of the year. After the acquisition of NBC and The Weather Channel earlier this month, NBC announced that it will remove the channel. It is already believed that WNBC will be replacing the digital sub-channel with its 24 hour news channel, which of course is an experiment before phasing to the eight other NBC O&O stations. (note that WTVJ is being sold to Post-Newsweek and WVIT is still for sale)
As reported on my blog in the past, WNBC will be changing to “NBC New York” instead of “NBC 4 New York” back in April (which will take effect sometime next month). And in the past summer, as a graphic revamp on NBC O&O stations, KNTV was the one station that had a branding changing. Originally called “Bay Area’s NBC 11″ or just plain “NBC 11″ is now called “NBC Bay Area.” And now another station will be following this. The flagship station for NBC on the west coast, KNBC. KNBC will also work along with WNBC with its new website portal, NBCNewYork.com and NBCLosAngeles.com expected to launch later this month into November. It is unsure if they will leave the IBS (Internet Broadcasting System) network, their current hosting provider which is involved with news organization websites.
As I said since April, expect many changes for its changing world to improve their multiple platforms, including digital tv, and internet.
I said this last year, and I must say this again. As my 21st birthday approaches quickly in November I would like to say something to my friends. I would like to thank you for being there for me however I have a birthday wish that I want to let everyone know about. That wish is not to celebrate, period. No cakes, no parties, no gifts, no candles, no happy birthday song (unless if my dog is there). And I am sorry to be this rough but if you even dare to throw a party for me, I will leave (even if its at my own house). Even if you through a surprise party, prepared a cake, etc. And yes, my wall on Facebook will be disabled 3 days before and after my birthday so please don’t leave me any birthday wishes.
IF YOU EVEN DARE TO THROW A PARTY OR BREAK A THING I JUST SAID, I WOULD NEVER FORGIVE YOU IF YOU DO! DON’T DREAM, IT’S OVER!!!
I would appreciate it that you would do this for me. Thanks.

Let me just say “I Told You So” to my friends who I would predict this back late last year through earlier this year. Nintendo’s next portable video game console is the Nintendo DSi, although some would not consider the system “the eighth generation.” The Nintendo DSi is just what I predicted, a DS model with more expensive hardware and several upgrades.
Well what will be inside the new DSi, well there will two cameras, one exterior (like a cell phone) and an interior (showing your face for online play with other DSi owners). The DSi will also have a larger screen, compared to the original DS model (shown in the picture).
And there is a new port that might have some people happy. There will be a SD card slot, so you will be able to save and listen to music, and play downloaded games. And did I forget to mention, that there will be a similar Wii Shop Channel on the new version so that you can download games right onto your SD card.
And what happened to that DS Browser I was so hyped about two years ago and no longer use. Well, the new model is going to have the browser built-in, but hopefully it will have some improvements.
However with these new improvements, there has to be a departure of a port that we might not use anymore, and that is the GBA slot
You might see my upgrade to this system, however, I am going to need to wait. The system is launching in Japan in November at $180 and is expected to launch in the United States Spring-Summer 2009.
The next home game system for Nintendo is Wii HD, expected to launch in 2011. And just like the title says, the system will not only be in high definition but it will also solve the memory problem by having a hard drive. The Wii HD will also have a powerful processor compared to the 786 MHz processor in the current model. Also, Nintendo will be working with download content, maybe most of these games will be downloaded. And as I said about a year ago, “game systems will go “disc-less” in less then 20 years and become strictly download. Maybe that will come soon and could cause Game Stop and other video game stores to close its doors (sorry Fred and Sarah). And yes, the Wii HD will be 100% backward compatiable, no words if it will work with GameCube games.
Wii HD is a code name and could be called something else eventually down the road but I don’t see “Wii” being dropped.
WNBC’s helicopter Chopper 4 was over Shea Stadium this morning and I was pretty shocked that already they are taking apart Shea Stadium. Their last game was only on Sunday against the Cubs.
As I said in the past, Shea and Yankee stadium will need to be dismantle, not imploded, to be accordance with New York State laws.
The photographer of Chopper 4, Dan Rice, showed the stadium that seats on the top levels of the stadium is already gone and the bleachers in the back of the park is already gone as well. You can watch the video on wnbc.com.
My last game at Shea was back in August, when I went with Jim and Mike. And as always, we sat right behind home-plate since a friend of my family sponsors the seats for the last fifteen years.
I will miss going to Shea Stadium and its sad to see it go.
