WFTU Radio Theatre: There is one more session of radio theatre before the semester ends. “A Christmas Carol,” “Rain on New Years Eve” and the fourth chapter of “The Adventures of Superman: Batman’s Great Mystery” will be performed live on stage and on the air on WFTU. I will not be on the stage once again, instead I’ll be making sure that the show will be aired over the air.
My Birthday: I have nothing special planned for my birthday. I might just want to keep it that way.
Let the Holiday Season Begin – WRAJ Internet Radio is discussing the holiday music planning late this year and it seems that everything will be announced later this week.
Other things that I haven’t done in October will be moved to November. That includes meetings for a new radio station I am trying to orangize, as well as starting to make T-Shirts to expand Jenthony with a new online shopping store.
This week, I am going to be busy as a flying bee. Yesterday, for just an hour of my day to take a break from everything, I couldn’t even play my StarFox 64 game, because everyone is just distracting me. I just started the game, and when I went upstairs to get something, my family was going after me like if I wasn’t there for about 50 years, telling me to do stuff. As soon as I know it, my free damn hour is gone! To me, its not fair, I have projects, essays, and homework to do. In the beginning of my day I put in an hour of free time at 9PM, and continue doing work after 10. I know, I was going to miss Heroes, but I’ll watch it again Saturday if I can. Instead my free time was only from 9 to not even 9:10.
I’m at school right now, my plans for the rest of day is radio theater rehearsal, followed by allergy shots, followed by a small dinner, and then an early night sleep at around 9PM. Well, just as long that no one distracts me.
And a quick reminder to everyone that I am not celebrating my birthday due to personal issues. If you want to do anything for my birthday, well just as long as its not on my birthday, I’ll be fine with that.
For Mary, Jen, Mike, and other Harry Potter fans, did you ever wonder if Albus Dumbledore was gay? Well, according to author J.K. Rowling, he is. After when Rowling finished reading “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows” to an audience on Friday, one young listener asked Rowling about his “true love.” She responded, “Dumbledore is gay.” Rowling concluded with a “Oh, my god,” and a a laugh.
WNBC is finally realizing that News 4 You might not be good for you after all. The soft news program on WNBC is getting pulled off the air after running for 7 months. As a WNBC fan, News 4 You had to be one of the worst news programs for the station that I’ve seen. Replacing the show will be, you know who, Sue Simmons with co-anchor Michael Gargiulo. However, the news at 5 on the hour will still not be on. Not only the newscast should be at 5 again, but the whole daytime schedule should be revamped at 4; Access Hollywood will be now on at 4:30 with another airing at 7:30. Two telecasts of the same show in a three hour range is a bad idea.
And sadly, my one and only favorite consumer reporter has been let go from WNBC last week. He was let go in round 2 of job cuts at NBC.
Got back from MangaNEXT a few hours ago and what a great time I had.
Okay, here are the stuff. Pictures are here (click me)! And a video of the elevator shortcut to skip into front of the long line is here. If you went to the con or not, you will find this video hilarious.
As I mentioned a few days ago about a false alarm at Five Towns, there was a another fire alarm at MangaNEXT! Shortly after I posted in my blog on the first floor, the alarms started to go off on the floors above us. So floors 2-9 were evacuated to the first floor at around 4 in the morning and were sent back to their rooms a half hour later. It turned out that someone was smoking in the staircase, I guess he couldn’t wait any longer for the elevator line. In the upcoming days, I will be uploading the “MangaFIRE,” which I was able to catch during the false fire alarm.
I had a great time at this con and I found the ‘alot of people’ in the room thing more fun and I would do that again. Not many things were going, which made me feel more relaxed.
Well I’m off! Enjoy
I’m still at ManagaNext, the first trip for in a while. I’m on my sister’s MacBook right now, so I don’t have that much time to write! So far, its been great. I’ll talk about the trip later when I arrive back home on Sunday. Photos should be up as well tomorrow night on my site’s photo gallery.
Its about time, I’m going away this weekend. However, I’m not calling it a ‘vacation,’ just a weekend to hangout with several friends. If you can understand, I feel like getting out of my house for a weekend. I’m willing to go own a private vacation, but its not going to happen until May when my spring semester is over.
This will be my fourth con for this year, the following con will be in December. I will try to relax a little bit at the con, i am not sure if I will be dressing up again.
Second, Jen and I are giving this a try, staying with Louis and friends in an hotel room. And that’s not all, 10 people will be staying in the room. And I agreed to myself, “If I don’t like the experience, I will never do it again.” Which again refers to other conventions, including AnimeBoston, and Otakon. But I am sure that it would be a lot of fun!
I can’t wait for the big blast at the con and I’ll see everyone there.
There was a false alarm today when the fire alarms at Five Towns College went off. According to my friend, a student set off the alarm. At the time I was leaving my post at WFTU, leaving hosts Dan and Justin on the air. As I was preparing to leave the campus, I put on the station. Then when I was pulling out the fire alarms were going off. So I ran inside and told them to put the station on auto pilot and leave the station until a clear signal is given. Shortly after, maintenance put the alarm till silent to investigate.
What was funny was that students were still walking in and around in the school while the fire alarms were going off. My sister, waiting in the car, was laughing how everyone is acting ‘normal’ and what Justin and Dan was saying on the radio. Justin and Dan went on the air again a few minutes after the evacuation.
Of course this moment made me remember the time when the fire alarms went off on WNBC last year on the 11 O’clock news with Sue and Chuck. Here is a clip.
In December 2005, there was another false alarm I was involved in which took place here at WRAJ Internet Radio offices at 3 in the morning. Many police officers and firefighters were here as carbon monoxide detectors were going off. In result, the batteries on the central panel for the detectors failed and was replaced the following weekend.
So what will be the next false alarm and how will it be?
MangaNext is this weekend, and I will be leaving Friday night and coming back on Sunday evening. I’ll talk about it in my blog on Tuesday. I will be joining Jen, Sarah, Fred, Jon, Louis, Merideth, and the rest of the crew. Sleeping with 10 people in the room doesn’t sound comforting, but I’m going to give it a shot!
WFTU Radio Theater is on October 17. I will be having a small role once again on stage and on the radio with this popular event.
I am planning to have meetings throughout the month for the new radio channel we are opening up in January.
I’m also planning to have meetings for our new video website that I am trying to start with my friend Niki. So far the only name we thought of was ZaraCruz, but to me it sounds like a cruiseline. This also marks the beginning of our live video streaming that I would like to start by 2010, when we will have plenty of bandwidth. A plan that I’ve been planning since 2004.
Halloween: No idea of what I am doing. Most likely I will be hanging out with Fred and Jen. And yes, I will be wearing a costume into school that day, not the “costume” costume.
Christmas shopping has begun for me. I am getting everyone a gift before November 20.
And so far for next month, November:
My birthday is November 11. No party or special gatherings are planned for that day and I want to keep it that way.
